Request Assistance

You’re Not Alone

If you’re going through a difficult time, the Benevolence Committee is here to help.

We understand that asking for help isn’t always easy. Our goal is to make the process straightforward, respectful, and supportive—so you can focus on what matters most.

Who We Help

The Benevolence Committee provides support to:

  • Members of IBEW Local 60 in good standing
  • Immediate family members of eligible members (reviewed on a case-by-case basis)

What Kind of Help Is Available

Support may include:

  • Financial Assistance
Provided when appropriate and based on available funds
  • Resource Connection
Assistance connecting with community programs and support services
  • Guidance & Support
    Help navigating difficult situations
  • Peer Support
Access to mental health and peer support resources

Every situation is different, and each request is reviewed individually.

How to Request Assistance

To begin the process:

πŸ‘‰ Complete our Assistance Request Form

Once your request is submitted:

  • A committee member may contact you for follow-up
  • Your situation will be reviewed respectfully and confidentially
  • We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe (typically within one week)

What to Expect

We are committed to helping—but we also operate with structure to ensure fairness and sustainability.

  • Requests are reviewed by committee members
  • Additional information may be requested if needed
  • Assistance depends on verified need and available resources

Even when financial assistance is limited, we will do our best to connect you with other forms of support.

No one who reaches out should leave without some form of help.

Your Privacy

All requests are handled with discretion.

Your information will only be shared with committee members involved in reviewing your request.

We started something simple

It’s called the $2 Club . TEAM-Up and the Benevolence Committee rely on a few basic tools to keep things running—like a phone line and Zoom for meetings and support. Nothing big… but it all adds up. So instead of asking for a lot, we’re asking for a little. πŸ‘‰ $2 a month. If enough of us chip in, we can keep everything running smoothly and focus on what actually matters—helping our brothers and sisters when they need it. Our First Fundraiser A Success - Poker Night !

It is said that long ago, one of the original community-building pastimes of our Brotherhood was sharing in a friendly game of poker. And here we are going back to our roots! The Hall invested in some Poker tables to keep the tradition going, both to build community and to help our various committees raise funds in a fun way after work. This Poker game was run Tournament style so that all of our members could play. In the end, enough cash was raised for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes.  The Benevolence Committee kept a percentage and also ran a raffle on the side. Altogether, we raised over $400 in one night. Going forward, it is good to remember that the more people play, the bigger the prizes will be. Below are some pictures from that night.
