TEAM-Up

What is TEAM-Up?

TEAM-Up San Antonio (TUSA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to support member-driven efforts within IBEW Local 60.

Its purpose is simple:

To provide the structure, resources, and support needed to help initiatives like the Benevolence Committee operate effectively and grow.

What TEAM-Up Does

TEAM-Up works behind the scenes to strengthen the impact of programs that serve our members.

This includes:

  • Supporting the Benevolence Committee
Helping provide the structure and support needed to assist members in times of need
  • Facilitating Fundraising Efforts
Assisting with organizing and managing fundraising activities
  • Providing Organizational Support
Offering a framework for committees, volunteers, and member-led initiatives
  • Connecting Resources
Helping link members and programs with external support systems and community organizations

How TEAM-Up and the Benevolence Committee Work Together

The Benevolence Committee focuses on direct support—helping members who are going through difficult times.

TEAM-Up exists to support that mission by providing:

  • Organizational structure
  • Support for fundraising and logistics
  • Long-term sustainability

Together, they create a system where:

👉 Members help members
👉 Efforts are organized and sustainable
👉 Support can continue to grow over time

Why TEAM-Up Matters

Good intentions alone aren’t enough.

To truly help people, you need:

  • Structure
  • Accountability
  • Resources
  • Coordination

TEAM-Up provides that foundation, allowing the Benevolence Committee and other efforts to focus on what matters most—helping people.

Get Involved

TEAM-Up exists because members choose to take action.

If you want to:

  • Support ongoing efforts
  • Volunteer your time or skills
  • Help grow programs that serve the membership

We welcome your involvement.

Looking Ahead

TEAM-Up is built to support not just one effort—but many.

As it grows, it will continue to:

  • Support new initiatives
  • Expand resources available to members
  • Strengthen the connection between members and the support they need

We started something simple

It’s called the $2 Club . TEAM-Up and the Benevolence Committee rely on a few basic tools to keep things running—like a phone line and Zoom for meetings and support. Nothing big… but it all adds up. So instead of asking for a lot, we’re asking for a little. 👉 $2 a month. If enough of us chip in, we can keep everything running smoothly and focus on what actually matters—helping our brothers and sisters when they need it. Our First Fundraiser A Success - Poker Night !

It is said that long ago, one of the original community-building pastimes of our Brotherhood was sharing in a friendly game of poker. And here we are going back to our roots! The Hall invested in some Poker tables to keep the tradition going, both to build community and to help our various committees raise funds in a fun way after work. This Poker game was run Tournament style so that all of our members could play. In the end, enough cash was raised for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes.  The Benevolence Committee kept a percentage and also ran a raffle on the side. Altogether, we raised over $400 in one night. Going forward, it is good to remember that the more people play, the bigger the prizes will be. Below are some pictures from that night.
